What INCH doesINCH received a grant for Emergency Funds, limited to residents of San Mateo County. This grant enables INCH to assist INCH partners and congregations in providing money grants to individuals in temporary crisis. As stipulated by the granting foundation, funds are for residents of San Mateo County. Common needs are: Groceries Emergency shelter Rent supplementation Travel funds Payment of utilities Burial Medication (only for generics or over-the-counter)How to participate
The person in need should not apply directly to INCH.
The Emergency Funds program works through INCH partners and congregations. INCH is an interfaith network for community help, and we work through our partners and congregations. INCH does not directly do any "social service." So, 1. The need must be validated by a known member of a respected community organization or INCH partner. 2. We need a letter from the social worker, or pastor, or designated church representative. 3. INCH does not need to keep records of addresses, phones, or IDs (drivers license, picture ID, SS card, etc.). 4. We will depend on the representative or social worker to provide any social work service, but we still would like to have a general idea of what these funds are being used, in most cases, for just for INCH publicity and planning. 5. INCH will not purchase store vouchers to be used by needy persons to make purchases. 6. A check will be issued on behalf of the person in need, and no cash will be offered. 7. All of this is done through email, and we will get back to you quickly. If you have any questions, please contact INCH.
Source of Funding
