COMMUNITY HELP (“INCH”) ANNOUNCES 2008 INCH SCHOLARS

The Interfaith Network for Community Help
(“INCH”) is pleased to announce the 2008 INCH Scholars. For the 17th year INCH is awarding
scholarship to ten 8th graders attending school within the
The 2008 INCH Scholars will receive a $2500
scholarship to attend the college, university or trade school of their
choice. Funds are held for each INCH
Scholar and are paid once the Scholar graduates high school and registers in
school.
During his or her high school years each
INCH Scholar is provided with mentoring and other support to help the Scholar
succeed. INCH recently received a grant
from the San Francisco Foundation to provide tutoring to INCH Scholars to
assist in the transition from middle school to high school.
Over the past 16 years over 100 INCH
Scholars have graduated high school and gone on to further educational
pursuits.

INCH is a non-profit organization whose
mission is to link needs in the community with resources in the community. In addition to its scholarship program, INCH
conducts the following “ministries.”

Auto
Ministry
INCH accepts automobile donations and matches
these automobiles with families in need of transportation
B.
INCH supports 30 chaplains at juvenile
facilities to provide companionship, support and training
A.
Hope
Chest Donations
INCH accepts donations of baby clothes, diapers
and newborn support packages and distributions them to twelve different
agencies in
B.
Emergency
Funds
Through a grant from the Atkinson Foundation
INCH provides funds to those in need referred by churches, synagogues and
social service agencies
C.
Extended
Educational Outreach
INCH provides funding for a tutoring program
for the Tongan and Pacific Islanders Community.
