Meaning
Universal to the human experience is encountering a purpose in life. Encountering meaningfulness in loving service reaching beyond one's ordinary routine is a gift. Life itself is an earlier gift, spent through whatever time given us. Perhaps we spend a portion in emulation of someone extraordinary, some saint, some hero, following some path gone before. Perhaps we then find that we are a member of a community beyond time, existing in deep experience. Universally, the impetus to relieve suffering, to aid, to lift up is written on the human heart. Maturation extends the impetus from family and 'people like us', to a broader circle, experienced through imagination and spiritual gifts. Work
"We believe that these truths are self evident: That all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, and that amongst these are the rights to Life, to Liberty, and to the pursuit of Happiness". INCH trusts the 'can-do' view of ourselves in the community: We are enabled, and ought to seek opportunity and the individual and community power to rise to the gifts granted us. The INCH 501.3(c) is a home for those who want to drive programs helping individuals in the community to escape need and then to turn and lend a hand to others. We do this for new initiatives not supported by others: our purpose is community help through service. Money
INCH looks to its faith organizations for participation and fellowship. For example, Emergency Funds are provided to INCH faith organizations as part of the program. INCH programs are funded by granting agencies and through funds raised by the INCH board directly.
Funds also come from the traditional INCH Gospel Jazz Festival.
